Misty Smith, LPC-MHSP
Misty Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider who has extensive experience working with individuals, children, couples, and families since 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to her Master’s degree, she has undertaken doctoral-level studies in Psychology, focusing on the Assessment and Diagnosis of Mental Disorders, Child/Adolescent Development, Psychopharmacology, various treatment modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy, and the integration of Christian Theology into mental health treatment.
Misty strives to create a welcoming, accepting, and safe space where clients feel valued and respected. She takes an integrated, holistic approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to the unique needs and goals of each client. She companions with clients to help them identify strengths, discover solutions, and emotionally heal. When working with Children, she incorporates creative play and art therapy techniques to relieve stress and expand self-expression. Her training and expertise include: ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders, trauma recovery and post-traumatic stress, domestic abuse, anxiety disorders, play therapy. Lindsey Hightower, LPC-MHSP-S
Lindsey Hightower is a highly skilled and experienced therapist who has been providing exceptional mental health services for over 15 years. Lindsey graduated from the University of Mississippi with both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, and has since worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including community mental health, in-home therapy programs, acute inpatient hospital setting, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, residential program, and outpatient therapy.
Lindsey's extensive experience has allowed her to work with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is passionate about helping her clients navigate life's challenges and find meaningful solutions to their problems. Her commitment to providing evidence-based therapies has led to her obtaining extensive training in a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Attachment Focused Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Perinatal Mental Health Counseling, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Kim Scheidegger, LPC-MHSP-S
Kim is a licensed professional counselor and a mental health service provider who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Baylor University in Waco, TX. After a year spent working full time at a Christian camp in East Texas, Kim then earned her Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. While at DTS, Kim worked at a church in Dallas.
Since completing her education, Kim has worked in a variety of settings. Upon graduation, Kim worked at a church in the pastoral care department working alongside various recovery ministries of the church. Kim was able to grow her clinical skills in helping others through a biblical framework in this setting. Kim has also worked at Youth Villages in Memphis as a residential counselor for children and teens where she was able to conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions every week.
For the past 12 years, Kim has worked in group and private practice. Kim has experience specifically in the areas of parental divorce, co-parenting, behavioral issues/anger, body image, eating disorders, self harm, life transitions, loss, OCD, anxiety, and depression. Kim has a cognitive behavioral orientation in her therapy while using a biblical framework and approach; giving practical solutions as well as looking at the deeper struggles that exist. She also believes that every person who comes for counseling is an individual, and she strives to understand individual needs by utilizing an array of art and play therapies, when appropriate, including sand tray therapy. Kim is passionate about the mission to help people through life’s difficulties and challenges by embracing the One that can heal. Kim also believes in the power of the local church and the importance of true Biblical community.
Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, enjoying the beauty of God’s creation; hiking, kayaking, playing, and running. Kim finds joy in being creative through cooking and art. Kim is also passionate about building into the relationships with those in her community; believing that none of us were meant to do life alone.
